Gary Player is widely regarded as one of the most successful international golfers in history. His remarkable career has earned him worldwide acclaim and a place among the greatest names in sport.
Player has won 165 professional tournaments across six continents, including nine Major Championships and nine Senior Majors. In 1965, he completed the career Grand Slam and later became the only golfer in history to complete the Grand Slam on both the regular and senior tours.
Gary Player is also a renowned golf course architect with more than 350 design projects throughout the world. Thracian Cliffs is the jewel of his portfolio, as according to his own words:

The Gary & Vivienne Player Invitational continues Gary Player’s longstanding philanthropic legacy, raising funds to support underprivileged and vulnerable children through educational and community initiatives.
In recognition of his achievements in golf and his commitment to philanthropy, Player has received numerous honours, including the 2003 Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2006 Payne Stewart Award.
