Gary Player is the most successful international golfer ever. Player has achieved the kind of worldwide acclaim reserved for only a handful of sporting greats.

He has won 164 professional golf tournaments worldwide, including 18 Major Championships on the regular PGA Tour and Champions Tour combined – and most notably, he captured golf’s coveted Grand Slam in 1965.

Gary Player is also a renowned golf course architect with more than 350 design projects throughout the world. Thracian Cliffs is the jewel of his portfolio, as according to his own words

The Philanthropist

The Gary Player Invitational is the world’s leading charity golf series, which currently stages six annual events in the UAE, USA, China, Japan, UK and South Africa. The series has helped The Player Foundation raise more than $62 million for impoverished children around the world.

In recognition of his achievements in golf as well as his dedication to charity, Player has received awards including the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2006 Payne Stewart Award.
